JCCC Strategic Plan

In 2008-2009, Johnson County Community College involved hundreds of faculty, staff, students and community members in the creation of new vision, mission and values statements and the development of a new strategic plan for the college.  Adopted by the JCCC board of trustees in May 2009, this new strategic plan was never intended to remain stagnate.  As the community changes, the plan needs to evolve to reflect and capitalize on those changes.

In summer 2011, the college’s Strategic Planning Council and Quality Systems Council met jointly for the first time to begin to work on modifications to the strategic plan.  Their list of suggestions was then expanded to incorporate those suggestions offered by the president’s Leadership Group, which met in October 2011.  Ultimately, the president’s Executive Cabinet consolidated all of the comments into the present document. Current wording maintains the original four goals of the plan but formats them clearly, succinctly and confidently, mirroring the culture that has arisen at the college since the inception of the 2009 strategic plan.

We are establishing metrics and funding projects that are designed to reach desired targets through the PBS (Prioritizing the Budget Strategically) process.  An annual report will document progress that has been made in attaining the goals of the strategic plan and will highlight future targets and projects that will demonstrate JCCC’s commitment to continuous quality improvement.
