Instructors have provided the following information to generally describe what to expect in their classes.

Math

Class Format

Each class is primarily lecture/discussion format using ‘guided notes’ containing problems and content from the textbook. My goal is to encourage students to actively participate while learning.

Resource Use

Textbooks are a major resource for each course.

Calculator use is encouraged. The specific calculator will be used as appropriate for the course being taught.

Computer software may be utilized as appropriate for the course being taught.

Online homework may be used as available and appropriate for the course.

Assessment

Three to five tests are given. The department final exam is given. In courses in which online homework is used, homework and quizzes are assigned and are factored into student grades.

Homework Policy

In courses in which online homework is used, homework and quizzes are assigned and are factored into student grades. In courses in which online homework is not used, homework will be examined in class and students will be given ‘bonus’ points to add to their grade at the end of the semester.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is not required. However, there is an attendance policy which provides for extra credit and the opportunity to replace the lowest unit test grade with the grade on the final.

Email is the best way to contact me. I am available by appointment.
