OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Hourly Amazon employees in Kansas now have access to nationally recognized education opportunities at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) through Amazon’s Career Choice program. Eligible full- and part-time employees can choose from over 100 one- and two-year degree and certificate programs offered by JCCC.
“We’re excited to be an education partner for Career Choice and welcome Amazon employees into the Cavalier community,” said Dr. Andy Bowne, JCCC President. “Our students come from all walks of life, returning to college or attending for the first time. JCCC’s partnership provides Amazon employees the high-quality education that launches thriving career opportunities.”
Amazon’s Career Choice program is an education benefit that empowers employees to learn new skills at no cost. After 90 days on the job, eligible employees can apply for the JCCC program of their choice, with tuition, books and fees paid for by Amazon.
JCCC has been transforming lives and strengthening communities for more than 50 years, with student success at the heart of the College’s mission. Free, comprehensive resources are available to Cavaliers from day one, including unlimited tutoring, a dedicated Success Coach, and interview and résumé assistance. In addition, career-ready courses are offered online, in person and online-hybrid to assist students in balancing their work and education.
JCCC was chosen as part of Amazon’s a rigorous selection process for third-party partner educators. Selected schools demonstrate a focus on helping employees through their education programs, assisting with job placements and offering a quality education.
“We’re looking forward to JCCC coming on board as an education partner for Career Choice,” said Tammy Thieman, Global Program Lead of Amazon’s Career Choice program. “Over 50,000 Amazon employees around the world have participated in Career Choice, and we’ve seen firsthand how it can transform their lives.”
