OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The JCCC Education Department at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is partnering with The Teacher’s College at Emporia State University (ESU) to inspire and encourage local students to pursue a future in teaching.

Buzz Into Education Day will be held Tuesday, March 29, from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Regnier Center, 1st and 2nd floors. More than 350 students from surrounding school districts will be on campus to learn more about JCCC’s growing partnership with ESU in primary and secondary education.

Event speakers include former JCCC/ESU students now working in the profession; ESU’s Dean of Education, Joan Brewer; JCCC’s Dean of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Jim Lane; and other area administrators and educators. The keynote speaker is Dr. Anna Stubblefield, Superintendent of Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools.

The day will include breakout sessions led by area administrators from Kansas City Kansas, Olathe, Topeka and Shawnee Mission School Districts. An in-depth tour of the JCCC campus is also included.
