The JCCC English and Journalism Poster Symposium is an inaugural event showcasing student research in the field of composition.
The English and Journalism Department Poster session is intended to:
- Showcase and celebrate the writing processes and discoveries of our English and Journalism students.
- Provide an opportunity for students to present their work in a safe, public forum.
- Encourage students to articulate their recursive composing/creating process via posters and short oral presentations, while also discussing the beginnings, middles, and ends of their projects.
- Provide competitive awards for outstanding students.
Eligibility
- All students enrolled in face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes in the English and Journalism department at Johnson County Community College during the academic year are eligible to participate.
- Students must be physically present on campus on the day of the symposium to present their poster during their allotted session.
- Students must fill out the scholarship application.
Condition for receiving scholarships
- Students who receive scholarships must write thank you letters to the sponsors.
