The Communication Educators Symposium seeks to explore innovative methods and strategies teaching Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, and other areas of communication. We aim to bring together educators to share insights and advancements in these areas to enhance teaching.

We welcome submissions in the following categories:

Individual Presentations

15-minute presentations centered on teaching public speaking, interpersonal communication, or intercultural communication. Topics could include strategies in various teaching modalities, innovative pedagogical approaches, technology integration, assessment, active learning strategies, student engagement, etc. The conference organizers will arrange submissions into thematic panels for the symposium.

Great Ideas for Teaching Students (GIFTS)

These submissions will focus on activities and assignments to share with other educators. Submissions may present an activity, assignment, project, game, simulation for exploring a specific communication theory, concept, skill, or learning objective. A GIFTS presentation will be a concise depiction of the activity/assignment in 6-8 minutes.
