Once you have applied to JCCC, attend New Student Orientation.

First-time college students: attend New Student Orientation one to two months before enrollment opens for your first semester.

Congratulations on your decision to become a Cavalier! We’re excited to meet you and share all JCCC has to offer. Now that you’re on Step 3 of the Steps to Enroll, you’ll want to register for an orientation session at the appropriate time.

Register for an orientation starting in March.
  • Starting classes in Spring?
Register for an orientation starting in September.

What will I learn in New Student Orientation?

Orientation is a great way to meet other students and learn important information. It’s required for all first-time college students, and is offered in person, live via Zoom and through online videos.

Orientation Will Explain:

Live Virtual Orientations

Live virtual orientations are offered through Zoom. Attending this presentation gives you the opportunity to engage with other students in a virtual format.

Registration is required. You will need your JCCC username and password to register for an orientation on the calendar below. A reminder email with the Zoom link will be sent to your stumail account one day before your orientation.

Online Orientations

Online orientations are available if you can't attend a live virtual or on-campus orientation session. Watch the orientation videos and complete the required Pathways Survey. In about one business day after you watch the videos, your Personal Admission Plan will show that you completed an orientation. Please note, online orientation completions will not be processed on days that JCCC is closed.

Don’t have a computer at home? Both the online and live virtual versions of our New Student Orientation can be completed on a smartphone. You may also use a computer at JCCC. Computers are located in the Student Success Center on the 2nd floor of the Student Center. If you choose to attend a virtual orientation, be sure to download the Zoom app before you begin.

If you do not have access to your stumail account or need help accessing Zoom, contact the Technical Support Center at 913-469-8500, ext. 4357.
