Since moving from Los Angeles to Kansas City in March of 2015, Matthew Williamson has become an active member of the Kansas City acting community. KC roles include Orsino in Heart of America Shakespeare Festival’s production of Twelfth Night, as well as Don Pedro in ASF’s staged reading of Much Ado About Nothing. Most recently, he played Phil in The Coterie Theatre’s production of We Shall Not Be Moved, a civil rights play about the Greensboro Four.

Matthew’s other roles include adjunct professor at University of Central Missouri teaching acting, period styles, and voice (2016-17). Currently, he’s active in television and radio as well as commercial voice-over work for dozens of companies such as Sprint, Hallmark, Missouri Lottery, Bayer, Applebee’s, John Deere, Lowes and many more.

Before moving to Kansas City, Matthew appeared in many television shows such as Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, Will & Grace, ER, Boston Legal and The West Wing, among others. On Broadway, he appeared in William Inge’s Come Back, Little Sheba, starring S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order, Chicago Med). Matthew’s proudest professional achievement is co-founding Crown City Theatre Company in North Hollywood, California. After 10 years it is still one of the most successful and critically acclaimed theaters in the area.
