Erdin Schultz-Bever is excited to join the JCCC theatre department. She has an M.F.A. in Acting and Directing from UMKC and a B.S. in Theatre Performance with an Associate Study in Social Science from University of Evansville. Recently, she played Laura in The Glass Menagerie at Musical Theatre Heritage, performed at the Unicorn Theatre as an understudy for Chris in Journey to the Poles of Inaccessibility, performed with Kansas City Public Theatre in Head of Medusa, and performed with Rising Tide Productions in Gulag Girls, which won "Best of the Arts Asylum" at KC Fringe. She has also worked as an actor with the Coterie Theatre, Kansas City Actors Theatre, Fishtank Theatre, Confluence Theatre Company, and Cornerstone Theatre Company.

Over the years, the possibilities of storytelling through movement have become an area of special interest. In grad school, she trained with Stephanie Roberts in the Lecoq progression of movement, including devised theatre, mask, clown, Commedia Dell'Arte, and epic storytelling. She has also studied Viewpoints and Suzuki movement and devised theatre with the SITI Company and Anne Bogart. As a member of the artistic leadership team of Confluence Theatre Company,  Erdin helps bring more experimental theatre to Kansas City, with a special focus on Butoh. Outside of her work in theatre, she has been training in aerial silks for six years and has performed silks, trapeze, sling, and partner acrobatics with Circus Scorpius and Circ.S.

Erdin loves working with people of all ages to build their confidence in their own artistic voice, their comfort in their bodies, and their ability to tell stories collaboratively. In addition to teaching at JCCC, she has taught for UMKC, the Coterie Theatre, the Lawrence Arts Center, and Kansas City Young Audiences.
