Hybrid classes are available.  Lecture content and curriculum are completed online.  Labs and clinicals are face-to-face.  Clinical days, times and locations are assigned by the instructor.

What to Expect

  • Our programs have state-mandated minimum hour requirements. As you plan for enrollment in a Health Occupations class, be sure that your schedule is free of anything that would conflict with class and/or clinical times.
  • Lab and clinical times are mandatory and completed in person. In most cases, an absence will result in you  being dropped from the course.
  • Clinical experiences are scheduled at long-term care facilities as part of the course.
  • Some clinical sites may have additional requirements such as background checks, drug screens and/or influenza vaccines that students must meet.
  • In the laboratory and clinical experience, you will be expected to have physical strength that includes the ability to push and pull 50 lbs., support 50 lbs., lift 50 lbs., move light objects weighing up to 10 lbs., move heavy objects weighing from 11 to 50 lbs., and carry up to 25 lbs.; and to frequently stop/kneel/crouch and stand or walk as needed.
  • After successful completion of the course, you will be prepared to take the Kansas State CNA exam. The exams are scheduled after the end date of the course.
