Mark Hills

Instructors have provided the following information to generally describe what to expect in their classes.

Math

Class Format

Face to face.  Primarily a lecture based approach.  Emphasis on attendance, daily participation (including homework) and asking your questions.  

Resource Use

Textbook (as both a resource and as a source of assignment examples) and calculator (different recommendations for different courses—your calculator is a very important tool).

Assessment

Grade based on percentage of 600 points.  500 points of tests (including final exam) and 100 points of daily grade (based primarily on completion of HW)

Homework Policy

HW is collected and evaluated most days.   Points are given based on completion and following instructions.

Attendance Policy

I keep track of attendance because I feel it is a very important part of your being successful in this class.  Attendance, however, is not part of your point total.

Availability

I am an adjunct professor so my days on campus are limited.  On my days on campus there will be times announced that I will be in the Math Resource Center and available.  I recommend that you use these times if it is possible.
