Understand the role of rigorous, logical arguments required to study upper-level mathematics. Through discussions, learn how to construct, write, and present proofs and techniques for proving and disproving mathematical statements.

Math is essential
Learn theorems, laws and other rules; more importantly, you’ll develop analytical skills and sharpen your problem-solving ability. Science, technology and engineering involves deep math skills. However, all careers require a certain level of proficiency in mathematical skills. JCCC courses will improve your skills and knowledge in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and statistics.
Using math, you can learn how to:
- Project a business’s profit and loss potential
- Encrypt or decrypt software
- Design a building for structural safety or make interior design pleasing to the eye
Day to day, you’ll also need math to manage your personal budget, understand your taxes, protect your investments and calculate your own earnings potential. Beyond career-level applications, mathematics equals life skills to succeed.

- Elementary and Intermediate Algebra
- Mathematics designed for technical and business degrees
- Mathematics designed for engineering and game design
Flexibility and personalization
JCCC offers a broad range of Mathematics classes so you can find the right subject for your degree or certificate program. Classes listed as KBOR Seamless Transfer will transfer directly to all Kansas public institutions that offer that course. You can use math classes at JCCC to fulfill bachelor’s degree requirements at another school.
