Regular exercise is a proven method of maintaining overall health and wellness. The Physical Education program at JCCC, along with the Health and Recreation programs, is a great way to stay active.

What will I learn in JCCC’s Health, Physical Education, and Recreation programs?

If you’re looking to prepare for a career that helps you develop habits for a healthy life, the recreation, physical education, and health programs at JCCC may just be perfect for you. Classes in these fields will help you build your skills and knowledge of:

  • Care and prevention of athletic injury
  • Sports officiating
  • Sports management
  • Introduction to sports medicine

JCCC also offers personal wellness courses to teach you health basics in a fun and personalized manner. You can try a new sport or learn essential first aid and CPR skills. Choose from courses in yoga, dance, team sports, running awareness and exercise, and even pickleball.

Check out the options on our Student Wellness page.

Athletic training prep

If you’re one of the hundreds of student-athletes at JCCC, the College’s athletic training program has one of the country’s most highly trained and skilled staff. A 12-credit-hour first-semester course is designed for student-athletes and serves as a training aid supervised by the JCCC athletic training staff.

Build a strong physical foundation that will stay with you should your athletic career continue after you leave JCCC. For information about athletic training courses, contact Beth West, 913-469-8500, ext. 3401.
