I grew up in Indiana and earned my undergraduate degree in Business Management from Indiana University. I went on to earn my Master's in history from Purdue University and my PhD from Vanderbilt University.

I have taught at Benedictine University (Lisle, IL), University of Wisconsin Whitewater, and the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. My wife and I moved to Kansas City in May 2019, and I began teaching at JCCC in August 2020.
