Instructors have provided the following information to generally describe what to expect in their classes.
Engineering
Class Format
Face-to-face sections are typically lectures and are based on materials from "Exploring Engineering, An Introduction to Engineering and Design" by Kosky, Philip, et al., and "Engineering Your Future: A Comprehensive Introduction to Engineering" by Oakes and Gunn. We will also use current engineering news and other practical online resources. Basic lecture outlines are available in PowerPoint format and other links used in class. There are generally two in-class projects that span multiple class sessions, which can be completed as a group or individually. These are due as noted on Canvas.
Online videos and other materials are used to engage learners and offer a variety of instructional methods.
Resource Use:
- There is no textbook required for this class. We will extensively use handouts and online sources as we talk about Engineering.
- We will have guest speakers from time to time.
Assessment:
20% Out of Class/Presentation Assignments
30% Participation (drop two lowest)
20% Homework Assignments (some in-class)
10% In-class writing assignments
