Resource use
Textbooks, lab manual, calculator, D2L, online access to Mastering Biology website
Assessment
Informal in-class practice questions and group discussions, in-class quizzes, lab reports and research presentations (BIOL 135), as well as in-class multiple choice exams and take-home essays (BIOL 135)
Homework policy
Labs, quizzes, and lab reports cannot be made up.
Late assignments (lab reports) lose 20% for each day late.
Exam essays may not be turned in late.
Exam may be made up in the Testing Center if you have attended 90% or more of lectures.
Attendance policy
Lab attendance is required; you will receive a zero for any lab report or homework based on the lab you missed. You must be present to take a quiz; if you are late or absent you will receive a zero for any missed quiz. You may not make up a missed exam if you have missed more than 10% of class.
Availability
I do not have scheduled office hours, but will try to be flexible to meet you on campus at a time that meets your needs; right before or right after class usually works best. Emails are usually answered that day and are answered within 36 hours at the latest. Grades are live on D2L as soon as they are determined.
