As the lone Johnson County Community College admissions recruiter whose recruitment territory is not primarily located in Johnson County, it is my duty to provide prospective students throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area (and neighboring counties) with assistance and information they can utilize to achieve their educational goals. My primary recruitment territory includes schools located in the counties of Wyandotte (KS), Jackson (MO), Sedgwick (KS), Douglas (KS), Clay (MO), Cass (MO), and Leavenworth (KS), among others. The prospective students I visit come from various demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds, and it is my responsibility to ensure that they don’t rule out furthering their education at JCCC as an option due to perceived barriers such as cost and distance.
My Background: After completing associate degree programs at JCCC in Liberal Arts (AA), General Sciences (AS) and General Studies (AGS), I then transferred to the University of Missouri – Kansas City. In May of 2023, I graduated as a member of the UMKC chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS – the nation’s largest honor society) with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA) degree, minors in Sociology and Theatre, and a Certificate of Entrepreneurship in the Performing Arts.
