Shannon Lueker says that the railroad industry "chose him" because he enjoys passing on knowledge and learning all things railroad. Lueker teaches his students to ask questions and together they come up with answers that lead to better understanding of the technical aspects of railroading. He firmly believes the hands-on experience along with the technical knowledge students gain through NARS makes them exceptional employees when they enter the railroad industry. He was a mechanical contractor for many years, which made him a proficient welder.

Lueker has fun with almost anything outdoors and enjoys building students up and watching them succeed.
