What will I learn in JCCC's Programming courses?
By taking Programming courses at JCCC, you will sharpen the skills you need to find an entry-level position in this high-demand field. In four semesters, you will develop the mastery needed for entry-level software development and related positions, including:
- The fundamentals of UNIX scripting and utilities
- Database management
- How to write programming algorithms using general-purpose C++, multi-purpose C# and JavaScript
- How to code, test and debug a series of commands that gradually become a working program
JCCC's Programming program offers you two paths to choose from:
Associate of Applied Science, Computer Information Systems
Become a problem-solver by working with databases, programmers, and developers to focus on the technical subjects and management of IT and administrative networks.
Associate of Science with an emphasis in Information Systems Technology
Learn how to administer and manage local and wide area networks with an emphasis in creating and maintaining databases. Programming courses at JCCC will help you will learn basic networking and programming. These credit hours will transfer seamlessly to the University of Kansas Edwards Campus, where in just two additional years you can earn a bachelor’s degree in information technology.
