Michael Garrison

Adjunct Associate Professor

Michael Garrison obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Writing, from Missouri State University in December 1987.  He started his career in healthcare while a student at Missouri State University working for the campus health center. 

Mike moved into home health care and upon attaining his degree he entered the field of Polysomnography.  In July 1991, he became a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).  He worked as an Administrative Supervisor for a university hospital-based sleep disorders center and as an instructor in that university’s School of Allied Health.  He taught courses in Polysomnography and control of ventilation.  He has been a program director of an AASM ASTEP program. 

Mike is a founding editor and contributing author for Sleep Review.  He is also the owner and director of a private sleep education services company.  Mike’s passion has always been education with a focus on sleep and sleep disorders, and promoting excellence through education to those in the field of sleep.
