Understand inflation, global economies, income/spending flow, price theory.

What Will I Learn?

You make decisions in everyday life that involve economics. Economics influences the prices of your consumer goods and services and especially the income and benefits you earn at your job. Our culture depends on the balance of microeconomics and macroeconomics to meet the needs and wants of society.

You'll learn how:

  • Supply and demand affect prices of everyday goods
  • Price theory, production flow and resource distribution are relevant
  • Our national and global economies work
  • The circular flow of income and spending affects economic sectors
  • Unemployment, inflation and growth rates affect Gross Domestic Product (GDP)

You’ll be taught by professors with master's and doctoral degrees in economics with a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of economics and its relationship with important social and political issues. There are no teaching assistants and you won’t be lost among thousands in a large lecture hall. Class size won’t top 20. Ask your professors questions and get answers quickly.

Your professors will get to know you and be able to steer you toward an emphasis that complements your strengths. If you want to learn more, you can. There is an Honors Program available for deeper exploration of economics.
