In 2021, voters in Kansas will choose candidates for city offices and school boards. In Johnson County, candidates for the JCCC Board of Trustees will also be on the ballot. No state or federal offices are up for election.

Primary elections in August will be held in races that meet a candidate threshold. Winners will advance to the general election on Nov. 2.

In Missouri, some districts will conduct special elections, such as for school bonds.

If you are not registered to vote in Kansas or Missouri, simple online forms are available for eligible citizens.

Kansas 

  • July 13 – Last day to register to vote for Primary Election
  • July 27 – Last day to apply for an advance mail ballot for Primary Election
  • Aug. 3 – Primary Election
  • Oct. 12 – Last day to register to vote for General Election
  • Oct. 26 – Deadline for voters to request advance ballots
  • Nov. 2 – General Election

Missouri

  • July 7 – Last day to register to vote for Primary Election
  • Aug. 3 – Primary Election
  • Oct. 6 – Last day to register to vote for General Election
  • Nov. 2 – General Election
