- Cundith receives his CoSIDA 25-year award at national convention

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Tyler Cundith, Johnson County Community College sports information director, was presented the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) 25-year award at the organization’s annual convention in Orlando, Fla. The CoSIDA 25-year award is presented to members who have completed 25-years in the profession. Cundith, along with 12 other sports information professionals, were honored at a luncheon June 14.
Prior to the awards luncheon, Cundith was appointed president of the 2YSIDA, an affiliate organization of CoSIDA for two-year sports information professionals. He also completed his second year of a three-year term serving on the CoSIDA Board.
In addition, the 2017 CoSIDA Publications and Digital Design contest award winners were announced at the convention. Cundith was presented 12 awards for the 2016-17 academic year, which were the second highest total in the country behind the University of Kentucky with 14. This the 14th time in his career he has finished among the top five in total awards nationally. Six of Cundith’s 12 awards were selected “Best in the Nation”. His men’s soccer, softball, women’s soccer, cross country, women’s basketball and women’s postseason basketball guides earned first place honors.
During his tenure at JCCC, Cundith has provided publicity for 11 national championship teams, 77 teams with a top-five finish at nationals, 101 Region/District championship teams, 129 conference championship teams and over 1,000 individual All-Americans. Cundith also has won 244 national awards for publications and writing, including 228 by CoSIDA. He has had 112 judged best in the nation, 107 by CoSIDA.
