Known for their entertaining and energetic interpretations of the classics, MTC’s artists-in-residence, Opus 76 Quartet, has been called “Kansas City’s gem of a quartet” by The Kansas City Star.

An entertaining and energetic celebration of Beethoven.

In 2021, the Quartet appeared as guest artists with the Kansas City Ballet, performing works by Philip Glass in the Ballet’s season opening performance of “Wunderland” at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. They also released the album, "The Six Quartets Dedicated to Haydn by W.A. Mozart," recorded by Kansas Public Radio at the Midwest Trust Center.

In celebration of Beethoven’s 250th anniversary in 2020, the quartet released its live album “Beethoven: The Complete String Quartets,” which included Beethoven’s 18 string quartets. In 2022, the quartet will give master classes at the Juilliard School and the Royal Academy of Music. The ensemble is coached by Károly Schranz, the recently retired founding member of the Takács Quartet.

In partnership with Friends of Chamber Music Kansas City. Supported in part by Kansas Public Radio.
