Celebrate the holidays with an explosion of music and color!
Mariachi Los Camperos is known for moving mariachi music out of the cantinas and into the concert halls of America. The Grammy Award-winning group was created in 1961 by Natividad “Nati” Cano. The mariachi giant played a key role in the development of mariachi music in the United States. In 1969, he opened the first Mariachi Dine and Show at La Fonda Casa de Los Camperos in Los Angeles. Today, mariachi restaurants all over the world are modeled after La Fonda.
When Cano died in 2014, Jesus “Chuy” Guzman took the reins and has served as music director since 1992. Under Guzman’s direction, Mariachi Los Camperos has won three Grammys and released eight solo and several collaborative albums. Mariachi Los Camperos continues to share the rich music and culture of mariachi tradition, influencing a new generation of mariachi musicians throughout the world.
