123 Andrés packs their show with positive vibes and energetic songs that get the whole family dancing and learning in Spanish and English.
This full-band show presents the spirit of music, energy, family and community.
All new for 2021-22 — The MTC Kids Jam concert series with free events is specially designed with families in mind! Join us in the MTC lobby at 10 a.m. for arts activities led by the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, followed by a 60-minute concert with acclaimed children’s musicians.
123 Andrés’ most recent album, “Hola, Amigo: Songs of Friendship,” features collaborations with a diverse range of voices.
Their message was highlighted by the Los Angeles Times and received a National Parenting Product (NAPPA) Award.
The group was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Children’s Album for “Canta las Letras” in 2019, and “¡Uno, Dos, Tres con Andrés!” in 2015.
In 2016, their album “Arriba Abajo” won a Latin Grammy and the Parent’s Choice Gold Award and was named a Notable Children’s Recording by the American Library Association.
The group has released seven albums and published two books with Scholastic: “Hola, Amigo” and “Diez Pajaritos.”
Andrés grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, and learned how to play the guitar from his father at an early age. He had his first studio experience when he was 8. He went on to earn a doctorate in music, and he won the National Composition Contest in Colombia for one of his early songs.
Christina grew up in the Midwest in a Spanish-speaking family from Colombia. Her love for the stage began with theater and dance as a child. After college, she taught and received a master’s degree in education. She found her calling teaching through music when she joined 123 Andrés.
