Career Pathways use your interests to help determine which careers might be good choices for you and which courses and activities might help you prepare for your future.
As you explore your pathway, keep these tips in mind:
- If you plan to apply for financial aid, you must be working toward an associate degree (AA, AS, AFA, AGS or AAS) or a vocational certificate or planning to transfer to a four-year school to earn a bachelor’s degree. Get details on the Financial Aid webpage.
- For this reason, some students will declare a general major while they explore their options.

Experiential learning opportunities
Gain valuable employment experience during your time as a Cavalier. Experiential learning is interactive, with a flexible schedule that can accommodate your course load.
Job shadowing is a fantastic way to begin career exploration and engage in experiential learning through observation and personal interaction. Usually, job shadowing experiences are short, lasting just a few hours with a professional to observe a typical workday.

Volunteering/Service Learning
