What will I learn in JCCC’s Theatre Program?

When you enroll in the Theatre Program at JCCC, you can consider a performance track or a technical track to an associate degree. You can also be set up for the next level with a bachelor’s degree. 

You will also have a chance to participate in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF). Past students have participated in the Irene Ryan Acting Auditions, have attended numerous workshops, entered student work for competition - all wrapped up in a week long conference each year.

  • Event Spaces: Our stages in the Midwest Trust Center include Bodker Black Box Theatre—reserved exclusively for Academic Theatre students—and Polsky Theatre. These spaces include awesome backstage facilities including our scene, paint and costume shops; props loft and student green room.

At JCCC, the Academic Theatre program focuses on preparing students for transfer to four-year institutions. Our strong foundation in analysis, design, stage management and performance creates a seamless transfer experience. Resources and Tools at JCCC

JCCC offers an abundance of resources and tools for all of our students. Not only do we have one-on-one learning opportunities, but we also offer smaller class sizes and free tutoring services that are highly personalized to fit your needs.

Our Financial Aid Office is a great place for students to speak to counselors about lowering their out-of-pocket costs each semester. With our counselors, students can learn about and explore student loan and scholarship opportunities.

For students who are still figuring out their plans post-graduation, our Academic Counseling services and our Career Development Center are great resources.

JCCC also makes the process of transferring your credits to another university incredibly easy.
