All Johnson County Community College employees are covered by Workers’ Compensation for on-the-job injuries/illness.

What to Do if You’re Injured at Work

1. Is the injury serious or life-threatening?

  • YES: Call 911 or Campus Police (913-469-2500)
  • NO: Go to Step 2

2. Is the injury non-life-threatening but requires medical attention?

  • YES – Contact ClinicalCare24, 855-513-3003 (answered 24/7), and notify your supervisor. ClinicalCare24 will authorize treatment and provide referral.

Workplace Safety Tips:

  • Download the Workers’ Comp vCard and save in your contacts for quick and easy access.
  • Complete Job-specific Mandatory Training.
  • Continuously improve your safety behavior.
  • Analyze and improve work procedures.
  • Following any workplace injury, contact Sandra Warner at swarner@jccc.edu to improve work practices and eliminate reoccurrence.

Remember: Report any on-the-job injury ASAP to ensure you are considered for workers’ compensation benefits.
