Before you register

Save Time and Money


Before you take JCCC’s ACCUPLACER test to ensure you register for the right classes, visit the AAC to prepare for the test. You will receive your own study plan, opportunities to practice on the computer and ongoing feedback as you work the program. Improve your score and save time and money!

Smart Start: Get a Jump on the Semester View schedule and make an appointment

All semester

AAC Tutors: Move Forward with Confidence

  • Receive up to 90 minutes per week of free one-on-one tutoring for your most difficult subject. Contact the AAC for more information about AAC Tutoring.
  • Take 1-credit AAC classes in basic skills essential for college success. For most courses, you must spend a minimum number of hours studying in the center, pass a certain number of tests, complete a course notebook and take a post-test. Ask the AAC about available classes.

Your first month

Test Prep: Plan for Success

Prepare for your first test with the assistance of professors in the AAC. Enjoy the friendly and low-stress environment when you visit the AAC.

Weeks 3 – 7

Test Autopsy: Improve Your Test Scores

Following any test, drop by the AAC to have your test errors analyzed. You’ll work one-on-one with a professor to look at your answers, determine what you did incorrectly and identify ways to improve.

Walk in anytime to work with tutors and professors who will address your specific need – whether it’s preparing for an upcoming exam, writing a paper, managing your homework or solving equations. Take advantage of numerous free resources or just enjoy a quiet place to study.
