Watch Show

Join the Veterans Story Collecting Project as it looks at the experiences of Kansas City veterans during their military service and return to civilian life.

As a reprise of its popular, heartfelt commemoration, the Project interviewed area veterans from all branches, demographics and walks of life. From these interviews, eight portraits were created to be performed by area teaching artists and actors during a livestreaming event.

The portraits will be released and livestreamed on Sunday, May 30, at 5 p.m. CDT.

5:30 p.m. Post-Performance Response

Watch the post performance response with Dr. Art DeGroat and Justin Hoover at 5:30 p.m. on Arts Council of Johnson Counties Facebook website.

Art is the Executive Director of Military and Veterans Affairs at Kansas State University. Justin is the Executive Director of The Battle Within, a program that promotes healing and restoration for veterans and first responders acclimating back into civilian life.
