Youth Symphony of Kansas City
"On the night of April 19, 1958, at a meeting extending into the small hours of April 20th, our Youth Symphony was born,” wrote Ruth Cady Austin in a synopsis of the history of the Youth Symphony of Kansas City. The organization initially consisted of one orchestra of 80 musicians. Today, the Youth Symphony of Kansas City comprises four full orchestras, with more than 360 young musicians participating annually.
The Carlsen Center is thrilled to join in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Youth Symphony of Kansas City with a special concert in Yardley Hall.
