Overland Park, Kan. (July 25, 2018) – JC3 Innovations®, an emerging healthcare simulation training products developer/retailer based at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) and a division of the JCCC Foundation, will embark on a joint venture with Remedy Simulation Group. Together, JC3 and Remedy Simulation Group will partner on future product development.

JC3 is known for developing the SAFingerStick® Glucose Testing Simulation Kit, making JCCC one of the first community colleges to have an in-house, student and faculty-led research project that has received a patent and gone to market. The SAFinger overlay, a reusable, plastic, finger-shaped device that resembles human flesh, allows students of all academic levels to realistically learn how to:

  • Perform a fingerstick procedure to obtain a simulated “blood” sample
  • Use a glucometer to fill a test strip and activate a realistic glucose value
  • Interpret glucose values in relation to patient symptoms during simulation

Remedy Simulation Group provides contract manufacturing services and branded simulation training products direct to the market. Its innovative products, including ‘Venous,’ a wearable IV trainer, and ‘Patricia,’ a wearable injection pad, help those studying medical disciplines develop the essential skills needed for success by providing tactile, realistic scenarios.

“Our new relationship with Remedy will allow for ideas to be developed more quickly so we can keep up with the market demand for innovation,” said Kathy Carver, JCCC Nursing Professor and co-developer of the SAFingerStick® product. “Remedy has a similar philosophy of developing new products to enhance healthcare training. We hope to blend their engineering with our clinical expertise to make the best products for the future.”

“Partnering with JCCC provides Remedy Simulation a great opportunity to get even closer to the students and teachers using our products. By working together, we create an incredibly strong product development team that otherwise would not be possible. We are excited to continue Improving the Standard of Practice!™” said David Szabo, President and Chief Technical Guru at Remedy Simulation Group.
