- JCCC enters partnership with UPS on tuition assistance
December 20, 2016
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College has agreed to become a partner in the United Parcel Service (UPS) Earn and Learn® program.
Under the terms of the agreement signed on Tuesday, Dec. 20, JCCC will allow a participating UPS employee to take a course and wait to be paid by the program administrator until the course is completed. In return, the college will be eligible to receive a $100 incentive for each newly-hired employee referred to UPS. All incentive funds will go to the college’s Foundation as unrestricted funds.
UPS employees who want to participate will be afforded the opportunity to defer their tuition payment until the end of the semester. If they complete the course successfully, the program administrator will pay for the course. If they do not successfully complete the course, the employee will be financially responsible.
The UPS Earn and Learn program gives students the opportunity to bring their career goals to fruition through part-time work at UPS and tuition assistance. The education assistance program allows part-time UPS employees to earn up to $25,000 for their college education.
If the college makes its referral goal of 100 new hires for the year, UPS will contribute $2,000 to the college’s Foundation.
