- Sandate appointed to fill JCCC board vacancy

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Henry Sandate has been appointed to fill the vacancy on the board of trustees at Johnson County Community College.
Sandate, Shawnee, self-employed, State Farm agent, will complete the term of Bob Drummond, who resigned from the board in March. The term expires January 2018.
The trustees interviewed five candidates, selected from among eight applicants for the board seat, at a special meeting May 5. The other candidates who were interviewed were:
- Steven Baru, Overland Park, retirement education specialist
- Bobby Love, Olathe, senior pastor, second Baptist church of Olathe
- Melody Rayl, Olathe, attorney-at-law, Fisher & Phillips, LLP
- Tony Thill, Overland Park, president-CST International, executive vice president-Global Storage Sales
The candidates each had five minutes to present themselves to the board, and the trustees had 15 minutes to ask each candidate questions.
Sandate will join the board at the next regularly scheduled meeting July 21.###
