- NJCAA takes note of JCCC’s sports information director

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Tyler Cundith, long-time sports information director at Johnson County Community College, was honored April 1 with a service award by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) at a dinner in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Besides telling the story of the JCCC Cavaliers for more than two decades, a NJCAA press release states, Cundith is a recognized and distinguished professional among his colleagues through his work with the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Cundith has covered hundreds of games for JCCC, including 11 national championships, 96 region titles and 121 conference championships. Along the way, he picked up more than 200 publications and writing awards.
Outside Johnson County, Cundith is known for his work on the CoSIDA Publication Committee since 2002. During the organization’s annual convention in 2015, Cundith made history as he became the first two-year college representative to be elected to the CoSIDA Board of Directors.
Since 1938, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has served as the governing body of two-year college athletics, offering athletic and academic opportunities to college students. The NJCAA is the second-largest national intercollegiate athletic organization in the United States with over 500 member schools in 42 states. For more information visit www.njcaa.org.###
