Recognizing Community Leaders

We honor and recognize leaders in our community through our awards.

Hugh W. Speer Award for Distinguished Service

Dr. Hugh W. Speer was a member of the College's founding Board of Trustees and served as a Trustee to the College for 29 years. During that time, he seldom missed a Foundation event. He was a relentless, tireless advocate for education and the College. In 1993 the Foundation founded the Hugh W. Speer Award for Distinguished Service as one of our highest honors. It is given to a JCCC Foundation board member, college Trustee, college employee or a community leader who has had a profound impact on education and served the College to help fulfill its mission to the students and the community.
