Join us for a virtual exploration as JCCC faculty tell us about the countries of future Study Abroad trips.

In an experience he will never forget, Dan Owens, Associate Professor of Economics, was studying in Germany when the Berlin Wall came down. As an economist, he continues to be fascinated by the way Germany has reinvented itself and revitalized its economy. He and Dave Krug, Professor of Accounting, will virtually take us to Deutschland, a country from which so many Kansans claim ancestry.

Mexico is another homeland for many Kansans, including Luz Alvarez, Professor of Spanish. Alvarez, Nanette Lanier, Professor of Nursing, and Tara Karaim, Coordinator of Community-Based Learning, will discuss their multiyear experiences with the Las Pintas Project, JCCC’s nursing international service project located on the outskirts of Guadalajara. Our Mexican partners consistently mention the positive impact the project has had on the community of Las Pintas. Our students often say that they are the ones who have benefited the most.

This event is part of Explore the World Global Speaker Series. All are free and open to the public. RSVP to as many as you like. You will receive a Zoom link prior to each presentation.

Sponsored by JCCC’s International Education Office.
