Featuring Barbara Finamore, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)

Barbara Finamore, author of Will China Save the Planet? and NRDC’s Senior Strategic Director, Asia, will discuss the economic and political challenges China faces as a climate leader.

China is the world’s second largest economy. It is leading the rest of the world in investing in clean energy and kicking its addiction to coal. This transformation is essential to China’s own prosperity as well as the planet’s future.

Finamore has nearly four decades of experience in environmental law and energy policy. She is a member of Foreign Policy’s “The U.S.-China 50,” a group of 50 individuals who are powering the world’s most complex and consequential relationship. Learn more about Finamore at NRDC.org.

The Environmental Science Lecture Series is sponsored by the Environmental Science and Sustainable Agriculture Department.
