Keynote Speaker

Sarah Margon, Foreign Policy Director, the Open Society Foundations

Sarah Margon joined the Open Society Foundations in September 2019 as its new Foreign Policy Director. Previously she served as the Washington director of Human Rights Watch. Margon has a long career of collaborating with leaders from both political parties to make US foreign policy more just and more effective. She was the senior foreign policy advisor to former Sen. Russ Feingold (Wisconsin) and held various roles at Oxfam America and at the Center for National Security Studies. Margon has been a guest on a number of national and international media programs and has published in a wide range of outlets from the Washington Post to USA Today to Foreign Affairs. She holds a graduate degree from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and an undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University.
