In an era of tightened budgets and increased student debt, co-curricular programs are increasingly challenged to produce evidence of their effectiveness. In this workshop we will provide a framework for implementing co-curricular assessment, including being clear about the purpose of co-curricular assessment, designing a co-curricular assessment study, validity and reliability, analyzing and communicating results, and taking action.

This session focuses on an institution’s attempt at a self–study exercise utilizing the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). The session will outline the strategy utilized, the challenges encountered during the journey, the outcomes and results of the self-study.
