The pre-eminent classical guitar quartet continues to dazzle. Multiple Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard joins them in Yardley Hall to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Known as “The Royal Family of the Guitar,” the Romeros were founded in 1958 by the legendary Celedonio Romero and his sons, Celin, Pepe and Angel. Today’s quartet consists of three generations of concert artists. The New York Times says: "Collectively, they are the only classical guitar quartet of real stature in the world today; in fact, they virtually invented the format."

The Romeros’ sterling reputation continues to be confirmed by repeated appearances with virtually every major symphony orchestra in the United States. And for more than 40 years, the Romeros have inspired composers to enrich the repertoire of a guitar quartet with orchestra.

Multiple Grammy Award-winning Isabel Leonard thrills audiences both in the opera house and on the concert stage. She has graced the stages of the Vienna State Opera, Paris Opera, Salzburg Festival, Carnegie Hall and Metropolitan Opera, among many. She is a multiple Grammy Award winner and recipient of the prestigious Richard Tucker Award for an American singer poised on the edge of a major national and international career.
