Follow these steps to enroll in the Plumbing program.

Use the online admissions application to apply to JCCC. You may also apply with the assistance of an academic counselor. All admission requirements by the College, including orientation, must be completed before you can enroll into the PLUM program.

To enroll in the morning/early afternoon daytime classes, you  must plan to be on the full time path and declare your major as Major Code 3200 Plumbing Technology Certificate.

If you need to update your major, submit the Change of Major form.

Determine the schedule that works best for you.

  1. The Full-time Day Schedule requires you to take classes from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at least four days a week, together with classmates as a cohort. This schedule for the Plumbing Technology Certificate starts in the Fall and finishes the following Spring, in two semesters.

To sign up for these classes you must request “Department Approval” by emailing plumbing program chair Howard Hendren at hhendren@jccc.edu to get permission to register. Title the email “Fall 2023 Daytime Plumbing Program – Department Approval” and include your JCCC ID#

Note: If you choose Full-time Day, do not take CMGT 100 or COMS 155 prior to the fall semester start because they are included in the cohort.

  2. The Full-time Afternoon/Evening Schedule requires you to take classes from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. two days a week. This schedule for the Plumbing Technology Certificate starts in the Fall and finishes the following Spring, in two semesters. These classes are open enrollment, and do not require department approval.

  3. The Part-time Evening Schedule requires you to take classes from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. two days a week. This schedule for the Plumbing Technology Certificate can start in either Fall or Spring, but takes close to 2 years to complete because of taking fewer classes each semester. These classes are open enrollment, and do not require department approval.

See the Academic Calendar for specific dates of when class registration opens.

  1. To enroll in the Full-time Day schedule, you will need to email your JCCC ID# to plumbing program chair Howard Hendren hhendren@jccc.edu; title the email “Fall 2023 Daytime Plumbing Program – Department Approval.” The chair will reply with further instructions to register.

  2. To be a Full-time Afternoon/Evening or Part-time Evening student, Login to My JCCC to Add/Drop Classes and use the Find Classes to search for the desired classes. You will want to pay attention to start/end dates; some classes are only 8 weeks long, so you will want to sign up for separate classes the first and second half of the semester.

Tuition

Standard tuition rates apply (see our tuition page).

We highly recommend that you pay for your courses as soon as possible (see academic calendars for specific dates). If you drop off of the schedule due to non-payment, you could lose your spot to another candidate on the waitlist.

Class Supplies

You can view and purchase required class readings by visiting the JCCC Bookstore or buying them online. The Bookstore online ordering system provides comparative pricing. To save money, some textbooks are available as used, rentals or digital e-readers. Your professor will go over with you which format they prefer to be used.

Tools

You will be required to purchase safety glasses and tools for the lab sections.  Your instructor will go over with you which tools you will need for your lab courses. Costs for these tools range up to $200.
