Instructors have provided the following information to generally describe what to expect in their classes.

Teaching Style

I have been at JCCC since 1998 and have taught ALL Spanish course levels. I combine lessons with communicative activities in small groups. Students who apply themselves are well-prepared to transfer to four-year institutions. Sometimes students find they need extra help so I encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning by using JCCC resources such as:

  • Language Resource Center and Peer Tutors
  • Academic Achievement Center
  • Testing Center (for Placement tests and CLEP exams for FL 130 and FL 131)

Please note: Basic computer competencies are required.

I incorporate the use of the following technologies:

  • Connect Spanish online publisher-provided materials, including LearnSmart adaptive learning program for ALL levels I teach. Audio recordings included.
  • Desire2Learn online Learning Management System.
  • PowerPoint for presentations.
  • Spanish keyboard setting in any course.

Homework, participation and attendance

Most homework at all levels is now assigned online via Connect, including select audio recordings.
Participation in class reflects attendance therefore daily points are earned toward your final grade.
Please contact me for specific information on the course level you are interested in. My contact is on the course catalog for sections I teach or you may reach me here:
