You could be an Ambassador!

The CFE champions Education Ambassadors who are actively recruiting today’s middle and high school students to be tomorrow’s teachers. If you are a current student taking at least 12 credit hours with a 2.5 GPA, you could be eligible to apply to become an Ambassador. Find out more. 

Ambassadors will:

  • Engage in discussions on critical issues affecting the quality of education by attending conferences
  • Build connections and find mentors in the community
  • Exchange thoughts on the rewards and challenges of teaching
  • Receive a $900 scholarship per semester

Education majors can maximize opportunities offered by the Center for Future Educators. This Center has exclusive counselors who will help you cross the finish line to an associate degree and transfer to a 4-year school.

Job placement

JCCC is dedicated to “home-growing” future teachers from our award-winning area schools and those across the state. You could have a teaching job in place before you graduate. Area schools need aspiring teachers from diverse backgrounds and those interested in subjects with high shortages of educators.

Research Experience

Real-world research experience covering culturally relevant topics such as differential instruction and inquiry-based learning is part of JCCC’s curriculum that’s usually taught in upper-level university classes. You’ll be ready for tough topics when you transfer.

Guest Lectures and Networking

Principals, mentors and teaching specialists from area middle and high schools give guest lectures about critical topics in today’s schools. You’ll get equipped to meet the educational needs of individual children and families within the community and excel in leadership.

Recruiters from all of Kansas’ top universities give presentations in your classes. Ask questions and learn about which transfer school is best for you.
