Community colleges provide opportunities for students to find success and be prepared for greater opportunities.

The president’s responsibility is to provide vision for the College and to fulfill this vision through leadership, collaboration and alignment of focus. Building valuable lasting relationships with a variety of constituents is vital to a president’s, and therefore the College’s, success.

Dr. Bowne, along with JCCC’s Board of Trustees, commit to following goals and objectives:

Goals for 2022-2023

  • Ensure that a Strategic Enrollment Management Plan is developed with implementation for 2023-2024 impact.
  • Engage the six public Johnson County superintendents in deepening our partnerships between JCCC and districts/high schools that results in increased access.
  • Engage healthcare, education, municipal, and business leaders in understanding their workforce needs and seek to align programs to meet stated needs.
  • Maintain focus on our mission and strategic plan by engaging faculty, staff, Cabinet, and college departments.

Professional Development Goals for 2022-2023

  • Successfully complete the Aspen New Presidents Fellowship (September 2022 – June 2023).
  • Attend the ACCT Leadership Congress conference (October 2022) and the Legislative Summit (February 2023) with Trustees.
  • Attend the League for Innovation annual conference (March 2023).
  • Attend the AACC annual 2023 conference (April 2023).
