ENGL 103 Practical Writing Skills
English 103, Practical Writing Skills, is an individualized course designed to improve a writer’s knowledge about parts of speech. The student will understand the function, identify, and use the eight parts of speech: verb, noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection on completion of this course. This course can be modified to assist writer’s whose first language is not English.

ENGL 107 Sentence Pattern Skills
English 107, Sentence Pattern Skills, is an individualized course designed to improve a writer’s knowledge on sentence structure and variety.  This course reviews basic sentence structures, sentence combining with coordination, subordination, proper punctuation, and style. This course can be modified to assist writer’s whose first language is not English.

ENGL 108 Composing Skills
English 108, Composing Skills, is an individualized course designed to improve a writer’s knowledge on paragraph structure— the organization and purpose.  For writers who want to practice writing in a variety of modes, this course will broaden understanding.  ENGL 108 is also offered online.

ENGL 109 Proofreading Skills
English 109, Proofreading Skills, is an individualized course designed to improve a writer’s proofreading skills and strategies.  This course helps students learn the rules of good writing, including punctuation, grammar, tense agreement, and usage.

ENGL 110 English Grammar Review
English 110, English Grammar Review, is an individualized course designed for writers who would like to review grammar terms and rules. This course reviews basic grammar: parts of speech, verb forms, basic sentence patterns and structure, modifiers, pronoun choices, usage and mechanics.

ENGL 112 Research Skills
English 112, Research Skills, is an individualized course designed to help writers who want to learn the research process by discovery, investigation, and journaling through the process. This course teaches the process of research and the appropriate documentation style, MLA, APA, CMS, and their formatting styles for any discipline of any writing assignment. ENGL 112 is also offered online.

ENGL 115 Revision Skills
English 115, Revision Skills, is an individualized course designed to help writers who want to improve their writing style by learning editing techniques that improve drafts.  This course works on your style, word choice, sentence structure, etc.

ENGL 120 Writing in the Disciplines
English 102, Writing in the Disciplines, is an individualized course that allows writers to learn different formatting guidelines for different genres and disciplines. Practical application can be applied directly to current assignments.
