Sunflower Project: Sustainability Across the Curriculum
Johnson County Community College believes that it must not only lead by example in the conservation of our planet’s finite resources, but also educate our students about the economical, ecological and social aspects of the environment around them. In keeping, the Center for Sustainability is launching the Sunflower Project, a grant program to encourage the spread of sustainability across the curriculum, through which $38,000 in federal earmark funds are available to support sustainability curriculum development at JCCC.
Overview:
Grants will be awarded at the following levels:
Level 1: $500 for the revision of an existing course to incorporate sustainability concepts.
Level 2: $1500 for the creation of a new course teaching sustainability applications within a given field or discipline.
Faculty from all schools and disciplines are encouraged to apply.
