Labor Department Outlook for Nurses

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook Handbook reports strong demand for the nursing profession. The job outlook for 2014-2024 is 17% growth rate (much faster than average), with median annual wages of $25,710 for Certified Nurse Aides, $43,170 for Licensed Practical Nurses and $67,490 for Registered Nurses.
