With six full-time faculty, and about two times that many part-time instructors, we offer nearly 150 sections each year of Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, and Sociology of Families, as well as more specialized courses in social welfare, social work, inequality and diversity, community, sociology of food, and Chinese society.

We provide a strong introduction and survey of the discipline while enriching students' understanding of social life through the diverse sociological perspectives of our faculty. Credits transfer readily to four-year programs, where many of our students go on to major in Sociology.

For descriptions and outlines of available courses in Sociology, please visit Credit Course Descriptions in the current JCCC Catalog.
